West Rock
WestRock is a Red-dirt Americana band that is a blend of Cody Johnson, the Lumineers, and Bob Dylan. From classical to self-taught, the music of the group emanates from where we come from, and reflects the people and way of life we strive to embody. Earthy & full tones, lyrics that reflect or tell a story, and multi-part harmonies are all distinctives of the sound of West Rock. While the band is based out of Boise, our members come from Texas, California, and Minnesota, and as such we resonate with searching for a home, building and committing to a community, and appreciating today because tomorrow may change. Our mission as a band is to connect and serve those who need empathy in finding purpose. We don’t have all the answers, but we will walk the road together. |
Aldape Bootstompers
The Aldape Bootstompers are a Boise-based band of bluegrass hounds that were conceived in the mountains outside of Boise. Taking their name from the summit on which they first plucked some strings and got super drunk as they discussed various Americana and bluegrass musicians, the Aldape Bootstompers — composed of Christy Rezaii, Ethan Mansfield, “Mustang Mark” Stolpe, and Connor Jay Liess — play an assortment of Americana music, including bluegrass, folk, indie folk, newgrass, and even a left field pop numbers. We'll play you a sappy love ballad if you ask us nicely, but we prefer the darker numbers, grimy folk steeped in murderin, druggin, whiskey lovin', adulteratin, coffin crackin, boot stompin arrangements. Christy's rendition of CeeLo Green's "F*** You" on ukulele is up for Grammy nomination this year.

Wild Dirt Flower - Boise, ID
|
Wild Dirt Flower (singular) sprouted when Janel called and sang Amazing Grace at Jason Homey’s Beginner Bluegrass Jam. Barbara volunteered to kick it off on guitar, found some harmony, and—a duet was born. Soon they asked Petra, classically-trained violinist/bluegrass fiddler, and Les, rock guitarist/bluegrass mandolin player, to bow, strum, pick, and pluck along.
Wild Dirt Flower, though based in bluegrass, presents songs from any genre that are edgy, earthy, mournful, strong on harmony, and showcase our gifted musicians who play and are willing to experiment on fiddle, cello, guitar, mandolin, bass, recorder, and…someday...banjo! From our far-flung roots in Nampa; Nashville; Luedinghausen, Germany; and Shelby, Montana, Janel, Barbara, Petra, and Les come together to practice, get better, perform, make beautiful music, and…..have fun! |

Deviant Kin - Boise, ID

https://www.deviantkin.com/
Deviant Kin is a not-so-traditional string band, though an accordion makes it into the mix sometimes....careening between Americana and bluegrass, and bouncing off Cajun, Latin, and Celtic adventures along the way, this group of seasoned musicians has bypassed boy band status entirely, and perform proudly as a man-band. Influenced by southern rock and Irish ballads, Appalachia and world music, you never quite know where the evening will lead. |

Aldape Bootstompers
The Aldape Bootstompers are a Boise-based band of bluegrass hounds conceived in the foothills of Boise. Taking their name from the summit on which they first plucked strings over some whiskey and campfire, the Aldape Bootstompers — composed of Christy Rezaii and Connor Jay Liess — play an assortment of Americana music, including bluegrass, folk, indie folk, newgrass, and even the occasional left-field pop number. Sets include original and covered songs. They'll play you a sappy love ballad if you ask nicely, but the darker, grittier numbers — grimy folk steeped in murderin', druggin', whiskey lovin', adulteratin', coffin crackin', boot stompin' arrangements — are what they like to jam. Storyteller - Treasure Valley, ID
|
The Storytellers are a Treasure Valley, Idaho acoustic band that specialize in story songs without regard for the genre from which they came - just great songs that tell a story. The group consists of four seasoned musicians known in the southwest Idaho acoustic music scene. However, it isn't the band that is being highlighted so much at the February showcase as The Strong Women of Early Idaho Project by the Idaho Songs Project, which used members of the Storytellers on many of the tracks. Hopefully will have a few of the other musicians who played on the project come up and perform on the songs they contributed to.
