Marv Quinton Interview
In this fifth interview of our IBA podcast series, we hear from Idaho’s Marv Quinton, whose story is an inspiration to those of us who started “late” in the bluegrass scene. Marv was an elementary school principal in Southeast Idaho when he was invited to a jam, where he picked up a standup bass for the first time! Marv became a prominent Idaho bluegrass musician, including playing for the band South Fork. He also promoted bluegrass concerts in Southeast Idaho, primarily the Idaho Falls area, and booked many national acts, including the band Jim and Jesse. Like many of our past podcast guests, the “Weiser Scene” had a great influence on Marv. He reflects on that influence and shares some funny stories (bluegrass marching band!!). So don’t miss this podcast - Thanks Gary and Bob! |
