Petra Schwarthoff I am a classically trained violinist who was lured to the dark side in 2016 when I fell into the company of other stringed instrument players jamming in Boise. Soon after I started to help the IBA with some computer and website skills and joint the IBA board in 2017. I am hoping to widen the reach of the IBA and cooperate with all regions in Idaho. |
Joe Gobel
Along with Petra and Mark, I was recruited to lead the IBA in the fall of 2017. I have been involved as president or vice president since. We grew membership from 50 to over 700 people, expanded the website (Petra) with the help of Jason Homey's excellent teaching materials and videos, wrote the bylaws, started an open mic(Mark), started Springrass and Winterfest and merged the banjo and guitar camp and started the Idaho Bluegrass Camp. Goals for the coming years include continue a supportive and inclusive bluegrass community, expand membership involvement, and promote and expand representation of bluegrass throughout the state. |
Kathy Allyn I have been a Director for the past two years. The IBA organizes a number of popular bluegrass events but there is more work to be done. The IBA looks to expand its activities throughout the state, and it needs to be done in a way that will be successful. I have worked with other small nonprofit organizations and understand the challenges they face. I want to help broaden the IBA's reach while continuing its current effective work. |
Mark Stolpe I discovered Bluegrass at the Minnesota State Fair on a trip back home. Shorty after I started attending a Bluegrass instructional jam with my Bass. By the time I retired the next year, music became my primary avocation. I am working with Bluegrass, Oldtime, and Jazz ensembles and run the IBA Open Mics at Heritage Social on Sunday nights. |
Barbara Kemp Since 2019, I’ve been the Secretary/Newsletter Editor for the IBA and have enjoyed working alongside our dedicated, creative Board members growing the bluegrass community with new events, open mics, camps, and jams. I’d be honored to continue on the Board as we look to improve existing programs and develop stronger connections with bluegrass communities throughout Idaho—Yahoo!! |
