Irish Jam - Boise, ID (Sundays 7:30pm to 9:30pm - O'Michael's Pub & Grill - between Labor Day and Memorial Day) This is going on for 15 years now, with a solid core of 10-15 Irish musicians, who come almost every week. Generally sets of 3 tunes in succession (jigs, reels, or polkas) are played. In a 2-hour session they go through 50 or more tunes and like to play fast! This is for advanced players, but feel free to come down for a listen. Important note! This is not a 'jam' where people try to improvise over the chords. We play traditional Irish session tunes, and when we don't know the tune we generally sit out and listen. 'Jamming' would be impolite at an Irish session.
